Upcoming webinar for the LSP on Digitalisation of the Energy System!

We invite you to a webinar on 28 January 2026, from 15:00 to 17:00 CET, focusing on the micro-credential approach.

This webinar sets the scene for understanding micro-credentials as a strategic response to evolving skills needs, labour-market demand, and lifelong learning policies, particularly in the context of the digitalisation of the energy system. It introduces the concept from its policy and educational foundations through to practical aspects of design, quality assurance, and delivery models. The session highlights how micro-credentials can complement formal education, vocational education and training (VET), and professional up-skilling initiatives. Participants will gain a clear framework to understand why micro-credentials matter today, how they are structured and recognised, and what is required to move from concept to learner-centred, market-relevant implementation.

The micro-credential workshop is aimed at higher education institutions, VET providers, industry stakeholders, policy actors, and training providers engaged in skills development for the energy sector.

EDDIE Final Event and LSP on the Digitalisation of the Energy System - Keynote Speeches and Event Highlights

The EDucation for DIgitalization of the Energy Project organized its final event - ”EDDIE Final Event and LSP on the Digitalisation of the Energy System” - after almost four years of constant activity of the European Consortium which implemented the project. The event took place on Thursday, 14th December 2023, at the Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union in Brussels and it was dedicated to identifying and assess skills gaps, needs, high-impact policies and regulations in the energy sector, for energy transition through digitalization.

ingREeS project - Setting up Qualification and Continuing Education and Training Scheme for Middle and Senior Level Professionals on Energy Efficiency and Use of Renewable Energy Sources in Buildings

The ingREeS Project is linked to the European Build Up Skills Initiative (BUS).The Project has extended the implementation of the roadmaps established and endorsed under the Pillar I BUS Slovakia and BUS Czech Republic projects focused on enhancement of skills of craftsmen and on-site workers in the sectors of buildings, to middle and senior level construction professionals. The roadmaps identified key measures for setting up a national qualification and training schemes and other measures for ensuring the development of skills essential for the field of buildings to the fulfilment of the Europe 2020 energy targets. The project established the necessary resources and prepared technical, organizational and financial conditions for training and re-training on energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources for middle and senior level professionals in the field of buildings.

European Energy Manager-EUREMnext (Multicountry)

EUREM is a standardised European EnergyManager training program comprising courses, self-learning and practical work, combined with access to a European alumni network for continued knowledge exchange. Participants learn to describe the technical and financial aspects of their measures in a standardised and concise way, to facilitate decisions at management level. On average about 75% of these measures get implemented and further ones are carried out later on. Developed in a SAVE II project in 2003-2005 and developed further partly with the help of EU and nationally funded programmes, partly with the training providers’ own resources, the course has been offered regularly since then (currently in 27 countries world-wide) counting now more than 5,000 alumni.

On 21 and 22 September 2023, guests from business, research, innovation and society met for the Smart City Day at the Mulvany Villa in Shamrockpark in Herne, Germany. The city of Herne encouraged networking beyond the city borders for an exchange on digitalisation, innovation, and smart city aspects.

EDDIE PROJECT ORGANIZED THE 1st WORKSHOP ON DEVELOPING THE "LARGE SCALE PARTNERSHIP FOR DIGITALISATION OF ENERGY”

EDDIE representatives launched the first online workshop for the development of a "Large Scale Partnership for Digitalisation of Energy" on the 30th of May 2023. A Project for the Education Of the century: ACM 3.0

The Padre Piquer Training Center is one of the pioneering centers in educational innovation in the classroom in Spain. To combat some of the problems of today's education such as school absenteeism or early school leaving, the school has embarked for some years on a deep process of digitalization of its classrooms.
